Description of IOEB Program
Scientific and Technical Objectives
- The scientific program which generated the IOEB studies the
physical, thermodynamic, and biogechemical processes which operate in
ice covered oceans, and their response to and effect on climate.
Personnel
- The IOEB was developed at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution with support
from the U.S. Office of Naval Research and the Japan Marine Science and Technology Center, but has been assisted by numerous individuals from many organizations.
Arctic IOEB Summary
- IOEBs have been continuously monitoring air, ice, and upper ocean data in the
Arctic pack-ice since 1992.
